Sunrise, on October 8th, MRO Chaplain Nick Terry, Jamie Turski, Tire Specialist Stewart Haas Racing, and Rob Lopes, Tire Specialist Roush Fenway Racing will depart historic and beloved Rockingham Speedway with the goal of “biking” 165 miles concluding in Surf City, NC.

The mission is to raise awareness and financial support for MRO, USO Delaware, and Pit Stops For Hope.

The three organizations, uniting together, are a reflection of much that is near and dear to our racing community; looking after the needs of children and service members and their families. The Inaugural “Ride From The Rock” raised over $37,000.00

“The inaugural ride was very beneficial for USO DE and we are grateful to once again raise awareness and funds for USO DE. The mission of the USO is to offer much deserved support to our current military families as well helping to comfort families that have had loved ones pay the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We look forward to watching Nick, Jamie and Rob safely ride to the coast to help us accomplish our ongoing mission!” ~ Mike Tatoian, President and CEO, Dover International Speedway Inc.

“Throughout the hundreds of USO locations worldwide, we connect our service members and their families through countless acts of care, comfort, and support. At USO Delaware staff and volunteers provide comfort to families of the fallen and assist with travel accommodations to ensure they are able to be present for a dignified transfer, when a fallen serviceman or woman’s remains are transported from an aircraft to the mortuary. During a family’s darkest hours, USO Delaware works to make the emotional process as easy as possible. Thank you to Dover International Speedway, NASCAR, Motor Racing Outreach, and Mike Tatoian for your commitment to providing this crucial support to our service members and their families.” ~ Rebecca Parkes, USO President, Northeast Region

“Race To A Million Meals is a lofty goal of Pit Stops For Hope of providing 1 million meals to people in need by January 2022. Food and education work hand in hand in producing success. Our mission is to replace poverty with hope in our communities and the lives of our children” states Pit Stops For Hope founder Ray Wright. He goes on to say “As founder of Pit Stops for Hope I am extremely grateful to Nick Terry and his team for not only raising donations to help child poverty in our area but also to bring more awareness to the situation. All too often in America we forget that there are many children who are going to school hungry, going to bed hungry and not being properly nourished, in such a great country this shouldn’t be happening, we need to help these kids. Nick and the MRO have always been tremendous supporters, and we continue to be overwhelmed by everything they do for our organization.”

“I’m very excited for the 2021 MRO Ride from the Rock, supporting MRO, the USO and Pit Stops for Hope. These organizations are making a difference in the communities they serve, and it’s an honor to ride for them. We’ve added fifteen miles to this years route, and I’m thankful to have Rob Lopes and Jamie Turski along for the ride. Together, we can all make a difference. Thanks to everyone who’s supporting the MRO Ride from the Rock.” ~ MRO Chaplain Nick Terry
