Morgan Shepherd * 41 CONSECUTIVE YEARS IN NASCAR Racing (1967-2008) Prior to February 23, 1975, I was at the lowest point in my life. That year, when I came back from the race in Daytona, my wife, at that time, had left me. I decided to live it up. However, after a weekend of partying and drinking, I felt really bad. I thought if all this is so great, why do I feel so bad in the morning? I had really hit bottom. I had always gone to church and knew about the Lord, but I guess, I had never really turned my life over to the Him. On a Tuesday night, February 23rd 1975, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I fell down on my knees and I began praying for God to change me. God took the desire for alcohol out of my life. Life is always going to be a challenge. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have faith that with Him you can handle life’s challenges.
